Apa sih kelebihan Pulsar 180 UGIV..???

Tanpa iklan jor-joran baru-baru ini Bajaj membuat kejutan dengan peluncuran new Pulsar 180. Tampang yang mirip sekali dengan Pulsar 200 tapi harga sama dengan Pulsar 180 versi UGIII. Luar biasa memang kalau di lihat value yang di dapat. Tapi benarkah New Pulsar ini hanya facelift  atau memang benar-benar pure revolution dari pendahulunya Pulsar 180 UGIII..???

New Pulsar 180 sejatinya untuk menghadang penjualan TVS Apache 180 di negeri asalnya India. Upgrade total di lakukan oleh Bajaj dengan mencomot semua body dari Pulsar 200. Body yang lebih kekar tentunya tidak akan bisa di aplikasikan begitu saja maka dari itu sasisnya menurut keterangan juga mengambil mentah-mentah dari Pulsar 200. Hal ini di pertegas dengan hilangnya produk pulsar 200 di negeri asalnya.  Yang ada hanya varian Pulsar 150, Pulsar 180 dan Pulsar 220. Kebijakan ini di ambil oleh pihak bajaj India di karenakan telah di luncurkannya New Bajaj Pulsar 220 versi karburator (Sebelumnya versi injeksi) dengan harga yg terpaut sedikit dengan Pulsar 200. Demand konsumen yang tinggi terhadap Pulsar 220 versi karburator pelan tapi pasti telah mematikan Pulsar 200 so di ambillah keputusan itu.

Kembali ke new Pulsar 180. Modifikasi mesin dan di hilangkannya kick starter pada new pulsar mampu mengail tenaga outpun mesin naik di kisaran 17.02ps @ 8500 sementara  pulsar terdahulu 16.51ps pada rpm yang sama. Bandingkan dengan Honda tiger 200 cc, power 16.4ps dan Yamaha scorpio 225 cc power 19ps. Cukup menjanjikan memang. Namun sayang New Pulsar 180 lebih berat 5 kg (147kg) dari Pulsar 180 UGIII (143kg). Setelah di analisa berat tersebut di dapat dari pengaplikasian setang jepit, serta garpu depan menggunakan Pulsar 220  (37 mm). Sedangkan Swing arm belakang menggunakan versi Pulsar 200/220.  Karena sasis punya Pulsar 200 wheebase jadi melar 25mm menjadi 1345mm. Dijamin kestabilan lebih mantap di bandingkan Pulsar 180UGIII. Pada pulsar 180UGIV speedometer di tambah dengan fitur control aki sehingga electric starter problem bisa di minimize. Hal ini sangat penting mengingat absennya kick starter. Harga yang kompetitif, Rp 18jt OR bisa di jadikan pilihan alternatif kalau anda menginginkan tampilan macho dan tenaga motor mumpuni. Menurut review-review,  motor new Pulsar 180 benar-benar revolusi baru di bandingkan dengan Pulsar 180 lama. False neutral yang sering terjadi pada Pulsar 180 lama ataupun  Pulsar 200 sudah tidak di jumpai pada Pulsar 180UGIV ini. Sensasi berkendara yang didapat sangat mirip dengan pulsar 200. Di butuhkan feeling yang kuat untuk membedakan tarikan tenaga outpun mesinnya dengan Pulsar 200. Apalagi riding positionnyapun ternyata menunduk seperti layaknya menunggangi sang kakak. Jika di cermati dengan seksama, harga dibandingkan dengan fitur yang di dapat tidak ada kata yang bisa di ucapkan selain  recommend to buy…..bagaimana menurut bro-bro sekalian?

Bajaj has launched the latest 2009 edition of Pulsar 180 cc bike. Bajaj Auto reiterates its strategy with the introduction of 2009 Pulsar Edition to keep the company on top in the bike segment. This new launch from Bajaj is a good news for the bike fans and crazy bike riders. The 2009 edition is named as Pulsar 180 UG-IV. The bike looks really stunning and much muscular then the older version of Bajaj Pulsar. This bike is much more similar to the pulsar 200cc design with black engine and alloy wheels which lend its style of black edition pulsar.

Engine
The bike uses the same 178.6cc 4 stroke air cooled single cylinder SOHC 2 Valve mill, which produces an enhanced output of 17.02 PS at 8500 rpm. Bore and stroke measure 63.5 mm and 56.4 mm respectively. Maximum torque is reduced by 1 Nm to 14.22 Nm from 15.2 Nm of the earlier version. The reduction is very much felt in this bike. The bike breathes through the UCD 29 carburetor.

Design And Comfort
The overall quality of the parts in this New Pulsar has been improved significantly. However, the finish on certain parts like indicator holders and the side panel locks could have been better. The first thing that strikes one is the addition of tank shrouds and the split seat that are borrowed from Pulsar 200 DTSi. The New Pulsar 180 gets changed in many ways. Now it gets the fleshy 37-mm fork assembly at the front. The contemporary all black theme is carried forward in the new version. From the forks to engine and rear suspension, everything gets matte black finish. There are larger forks at the front and box section swingarm at the rear. The DTS-i engine (no fuel injection) now generates slightly more power. The power output of new pulsar 180cc is 17.02PS at 8500rpm compared to the earlier 16.5bhp at 8000rpm. New pulsar 180cc has a wheelbase of 145 mm, 25 mm longer than the previous one. Kick lever has been scrapped and ignition is only through battery in the new pulsar 180cc. The bike also gets a new rear sprocket and the O-ring chain. There is a clip-on handlebar in the new bike

Ride And Handling
The wheelbase has been increased from 1320 mm to 1345 mm, which aids the straight line ability of this bike. The bike now comes loaded with an Oval section swing arm derived from the Pulsar 200/220 cc. With the inclusion of all these features the bike feels a bit stiff and less nimble when compared with the earlier version. The bike has a longer turning radius. Under extreme braking, Pulsar stands tall because of the quality of tyres. The New Pulsar will definitely hit the road with well acclaimed performance in the complete new look quite resembling 200cc.
